about

Recorded from 1978 to 1984, this CD is the second in my four volume Transparencies series. The songs herein were digitally remastered and released as a limited edition CD in 2007 (NQP RetroSpective 2078). The CD artwork can be viewed in the info links to each song.
Tracks 1 and 2 epitomize the simple themes I used to play for hours on my Fender Rhodes Suitcase piano.
The newly added track 4 is the improvisation that led to Blessing I. Performed on my Fender Rhodes Suitcase piano, it consists of an improvisation, a brief performance of my composition "Jimmy Garrison" (also found on my "Listen" CD).
Track 3 employed matchbooks to sustain notes in a multi-track recording of two chords (Esus4 & A) simultaneasously. The subtle arpeggiations and melodies heard are the result of the interplay of the sustained tones over time.

This project is a duo at present, and I am also making available my archive from 40+ years of recordings. ... more
