From our forthcoming album Momentary Monuments, " *od's country" should be listened to in its entirety without interruption.

John and I enjoyed our November 2019 guitar/Minimoog duets that made up our last album, Worlds Unseen, so much we called another session on January 23, 2020, and recorded two 20+ minute improvisations.

This is the second improv, and when I listened to it I didn’t like anything I played live on i. However, I thought John’s guitar track was brilliant. Many elements I look for are present - simplicity, repetition, rhythmic drive and meaningful advancement without over ornamentation - and a 24 minute track that did not require one edit.

I discarded my Minimoog track and improvised with John's guitar track using a Hammond B3 patch I developed on my Nord Stage synth. I warmed up by improvising over the first 2 minutes of the track a couple of times, found a theme I liked, and hit the record switch. I remember that I got off track after a few minutes on the first pass, rewound a bit and went from there to the finish in what amounted to 2 takes.

The other recording is awaiting finishing touches when we longer have to practice social isolation. Until then, enjoy this one, and be safe.
