Ambient Music For Public Places is part one of a trilogy of CD-length projects that we have been working on for the past year. This project is a suite of songs that are suitable for listening to in a variety of environments.
It is sequenced for maximum effect when listened to in its entirety. Our edgier works will be on two forthcoming releases, "Migration" and "Touchstones".

These are improvisation-based compositions, and most of them involve several layers of improvisations. Our usual strategy is to start with an improvised keyboard track and then, without revealing key centers or allowing him to first listen to the track, I have John play along with the track and create spontaneously. I record one to three takes and then proceed to add more keyboards (or not) and create a final mix.

I especially want to thank John for his incredible playing and also his patience with my creative processes.
